A fractional CMO is a marketing executive who works with your firm on a part-time or contract basis, giving you strategic marketing leadership without the cost of a full-time hire. For law firms, a fractional CMO handles the work a Director of Marketing or Chief Marketing Officer would do in-house: position, business development strategy, pitch support, content, rankings submissions, and vendor oversight. Most boutique and mid-size firms don’t need (or can’t justify) a full-time marketing department. A fractional CMO fills that gap with senior-level thinking and hands-on execution scoped to what the firm actually needs.

Most legal marketing agencies are built around plaintiff-side firms and intake volume (i.e., high-traffic SEO, lead generation, and paid ads).
